I'm the self-proclaimed QUEEN of fragments, run-ons, made up words & droppin' gs.  I really don't have set format for a review, the way I feel about the book dictates the way the review comes out.  What I can promise is no snark and no spoilers, unless I warn you about it but I'd rather not put spoilers.

I LOVE to read, a book a day is my norm.   This blog is to share that love and to keep me from going insane now that my only child is an adult =)

I'm discovering I have a bit of NAUGHTY in me, as well as an inner sub waiting for a COWBOY DOM to make her come out.

I love to chat and make friends...

Hi Everyone!  I’m Kimber with Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews and I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself for those of you who don’t already know me.

I live in the DEEP south with my husband of 21 years, our 16 year old daughter, and our 20 year old son who’s currently off at college.  I LOVE to read but that wasn’t always the case.  My husband, son, and daughter always had a book in their hand and I honestly never understood the draw of not being able to put a book down.  Sure, I read books in the past and liked them okay, but had never had that WOW feeling while reading.  Sadly, I felt like a dummy/outcast in my own home sometimes because I was never able to discuss anything that had to do with books or reading.   Things changed for me when I went and saw the first Harry Potter movie with my children.  My son kept saying throughout the movie, this isn’t like the book, it’s just not the same, and kept mentioning how much better the book was compared to the movie.  I really enjoyed the movie but curiosity got the best of me and I decided to read it at their requests.  Well, I loved them so much, I read them over and over, and the rest is history.  Every time a movie was based on a book, I would buy the book before the movie released and a few years later, I hit upon Twilight.  Twilight got me started in the paranormal genre and from there I found the Black Dagger Brotherhood, and many, many more wonderful series/authors to help feed my new found hunger for reading.  In August of 2010 my husband bought me a Kindle DX for my birthday.  I think it’s because he was forced to build bookshelves and cabinets to hold all of my books--I was OBSESSED with reading and not interested in getting rid of any of them—but what I really liked about my Kindle was I didn’t have to camp out at the book store waiting for the next book in a series to ship.  I do miss hanging out and reading at my local Books-A-Million, but the convenience of downloading books at a moment’s notice outweighs that guilt.
Not only do I love to read but I love to discuss the books I read, whether it’s a great YA book, paranormal, EROTIC, or mystery/suspense, part of the fun is being able to talk about it and hear other’s thoughts too.   I love it when people comment on my reviews!

I am having a blast with the GP review site.  I’ve “met” so many wonderful friends, and just think, it’s all because of Harry Potter.  Go figure!

A lover of books and a romantic at heart. I love to read a variety of genre’s and share my thoughts on great stories with my friends. And we’re all friends here, right? Although I prefer a happily ever after, it is not a necessity. A story that invokes my mind; makes me think and feel will keep my interest and get a good review.

I’m happily married to my own real life hero. We have a great life raising our children. It brings me tremendous joy when my children tell me how much they love to read. Great discussions ensue. The apple doesn’t fall too far…

Happy Reading All!
Cheers,
Angeline

I spend my day time as an Administrative Slave to several lost causes. I find myself daydreaming about all the great books I read at night. Once I leave the confines of office drudgery I’m a human taxi cab for my two sons and their endless soccer activities. I sneak in all the reading I can at practices and games! I’m so glad I have a nook to keep it all under wraps!! I spend my downtime reading, cuddled up with my multitude of furry companions and chatting with my friends online. I have the luxury of spending my nights wrapped around a broody alpha man with sexy Spanish accent. He doesn’t understand why I could possibly want to ‘sit around reading’ all the time, but he reaps the rewards often enough to keep quiet about it!

Strong willed leading ladies paired with dominant males and all they have to offer a girl is what I tend to Iook for in a book. My favorite genres are Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Contemporary Erotica. Some of my favorite authors: Kelley Armstrong, Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward, Lorelei James, and Selena Kitt. ~Ava

I've always loved to read anything I could get my hands on, including romance (which my husband is very thankful for :) After working all day and then coming home to a wonderfully evil 2 year old little boy I use books as an escape because, come on, what's better than lying in a steaming tub with a book and a glass of wine while your kid is on the other side of the door yelling for you to come out??? So this blog is a great avenue to not only get my hands on some good stuff, but also share my appreciation with you and the writes. Thanks to DiDi, of course, for all of her work on here.  Lots of Love!

I have been an avid reader my whole life. There is something just magical about getting lost in a good story. Besides reading I am a total country girl at heart. I love to camp and spend time outdoors. I am extremely addicted to NASCAR and Hockey. I have two fantastic kids that keep me very busy. I have an amazing husband who puts most of the hero’s I read about to shame.

I have a true passion for romance novels. I love the escape and the enjoyment that comes with reading a great book. When I read a book, I want it all. It has to evoke emotion from me. I want to laugh or cry and I want more than anything to fall in love with the characters and their lives. I want to be captivated until the very last word. A good author has the ability to bring it all out. I also want a great beginning. A great beginning to me is one that lands you smack dab in the middle of your characters lives, fast and hard. Something monumental or life changing should be happening that sets it all in motion and takes hold of the reader. It keeps them glued in an effort to find the what, where, why and how.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts. I will express my unbiased honest opinions.....both the good and the bad.

~Wishing you all lots and lots of sexy stories ~

Loves!

I’m a college student who loves to read anything but my text books. Early 2010 I discovered the Kindle app for my phone (couldn’t afford the kindle yet) and there’s been no stopping me. I feel incredible lucky for the opportunity to review books for DiDi and Guilty Pleasures. It’s great to have a place where reviews of all the books I love are in one place. My reviews might not be the most articulate but they’re honest and sincere and hope they interest you.  Thank you much!

I have always loved that I can sit down with a book and escape into a different world. I enjoy letting my imagination run wild while following along someone’s story. It’s always been my escape from the real world and my real problems. Fight with my parents or now my husband and I can read about murdering someone and I don’t have to spend the time in jail. A rough day when I can’t take the bull shit anymore and I can go live out a fantasy with fairies and dragons. When I want to add a little spice or get an idea I run to the romance or erotic books. I love my life and enjoy my hobby!

I’m also a mommy, wife, daughter, and a full time something to someone all the time. I also like to think I’m a southern lady to the bone with an attitude to match, and I don’t have time to be a southern belle. They faint to damn much for my taste. I’m busier now than ever, but to those of you who read my reviews I hope y’all like them! And to my friend Didi, thank you for bring us all together and being one of the sweetest lady’s I know! Live, laugh, love, and read tons of good books!

I love reading. It can take me to different locations and make me experience different emotions, all in the course of a couple of hours. I started with reading The Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley High as a adolescent. As I got older, I felt like I was missing something. My grandmother introduced me to the romance genre in 7th grade by giving me Dorothy Garlock's Tenderness. Since then I have devoured everything I could get my hands on.

Reading is the best gift I ever gave myself and I consider myself lucky to be able to enjoy it. There is sometimes nothing better than a good book & I'm excited to be reviewing those books for you here. It is my hope that the reviews I write will make you run to your preferred outlet and buy it as quickly as possible!

Growing up I only read when I had to and most of the time I would only read half the book and then get the Cliffnotes or hopefully watch the movie. When I reached my late 20's all of the sudden want to read! I started with authors like, Sophie Kinsella, Emily Giffin and Marion Keyes. I was talking to a friend at work one day and she opened my reading world to Sherrilyn Kenyon and my passion for reading just grew from there. I love a good story where you feel like you are living the story with the characters. Of course, I love a happy ending and when the nasty ones get what is coming to them. I do not think I am the greatest writer and a horrible speller, but I hope I can turn people on to great books. Since I am single gal still looking for HEA, I love losing myself in a book and have all my troubles go away for a while. I am glad that I will be able to share great stories with all of you.  Happy Reading!

I am a klutz of a book addict and often find myself walking into walls because I refuse to look up from my books. I spend my days inspiring young minds to read and write in hopes of creating new book lovers and authors of the future. I spend my evenings and weekends with my 3 beautiful children and the daily eye candy I love to call my husband. I spend all day in the real world so my books are my serenity. They give me the escape from reality that every girl needs from time to time. Nothing beats a quiet room filled will cushy pillows, a steamy read, and a perfect cup of coffee. That is simply perfection! Whether it is on an e-reader, a phone, a computer, my i-Pod, or my favorite, a classic paperback; I always have a book in hand and have happily been deemed an addict. It is an addiction I am proud of and one I can't wait to share.

I’m an avid reader and average around 20-30 books per month. I actually discovered erotic romance about 2 years ago and credit Lorelei James for putting a lot of spark back into my marriage. My husband and I are approaching our 25th anniversary so yes, that makes me a “mature” woman by age but at heart I’m about 30! (Just a side note, my husband has read every one of Lorelei’s Rough Rider series and the Twilight series because he was tired of me referencing them and wanted to know what the fuss was about. We’ve had a lot of interesting conversations about them all.) By day I’m a mild mannered teacher, by night I’m a vixen in training. I prefer contemporary erotic romances, love anything with multiple partners, BDSM, and I enjoy a good man love story now and again. As far as my reviews, they will depend on the book. I have a lot (and I do mean A LOT) of favorite authors but I have no problem letting them know if a book doesn’t meet my expectations. I feel authors deserve and appreciate honesty from their readers. I’m so looking forward to working with Didi and the rest of the team.

Anything that has the printed word on it or in it is fair game to me and has been for nearly 60 years. I particularly love romance, the hotter the better. I'm retired but working part time now and then, and enjoying the time to read. My husband and I have two golden retrievers, and help take care of my elderly parents. As a former reporter and editor, I'm inquisitive and stick my nose into all sorts of places-especially books!

Hi! I am a mom of 3 (all boys) that gave up reading to raise my children and find my career. A few years ago I asked a friend if I could borrow her Twilight series so I could see what all the “fuss” was about and remembered what I was missing. Well, needless to say, I haven't stopped reading since. Much to my family's dismay! Now, I'm never seen without my Nook in hand. It comes to my son's baseball games, grocery shopping and work. I love all genre's of books. I will read anything from YA to Adult Erotica; Paranormal to BDSM; Historical Romances to Mysteries. I have to credit Lora Leigh for introducing me to the wonderful world of Erotica and to Kallypso Masters for pointing me to all these sites so that I could share my love of reading with everyone. I am a former police officer and love, love, love, country music. So, you guessed it, give me my cowboys and cops and I am one happy camper. If you mix cowboys, cops and some military men, well, don't talk to me for a while – I'm in my happy place! I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts and views with everyone and, like Didi, won't give you any spoilers (without warning). I am a firm believer in “if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.” So don't expect me to “bash” a book. I will find the good points, promise. Happy Reading!

Hi everyone! I'm Rhys. A little about myself. I am the baby of 6 kids, and according to my 19 year old niece the "cool aunt". I am 26 years young and just recently graduated with my second Bachelors Degree in Psychology (my first is in English/Comparative Literature), besides that I have a crazy amount of other undergrad work under my belt and yet i can't seem to stop the school train (I just love to learn new things, so new classes are always being added to my schedule). When Im not being a crazy person with school, I work full time as a Radiology TA and as a part time caretaker of my grandfather. Outside of my "professional" life I am a vorcious reader, i think I am up to 70 books so far this month, and will tackle just about anything that i can get my hands on. When i do get down time i am usually out with friends getting yet another piericing (I have at last count 24 un-god-made holes in my body) or laughing at my friends while they cry getting tattoos. I love hard rock music concerts, 2 am ice cream runs to walmart (can't live without my B&J ice cream) or just doing the usual post college kid living of sleeping in and being lazy. I have two cats, siamese, Kabe and Zenn; and if i had more time at home I would own a couple dogs.

My "career" in reviewing actually happened by complete accident. I was reading some posting in one of my many yahoo groups and saw an ad from Long and Short Reviews looking for people and i figured "why not?!?", well that was in September of last year and I have already read roughly 300 books. When I think of my love for reading and how it all started, i can remember picking up a Cosmo magazine and looking at the book reviews/blurbs in the back and a Nora Roberts book was featured (it was The Villa) and i immediately fell in love. I had always liked to read before that, but after that skimmed magaine, I haven't been able to put books down. Barnes & Noble and Amazon love me equally since I own both a Kindle 3 and Nook, along with a laptop and iPad 2. I have an electronics fetish! When I bought my house almost 4 years ago, i actually had to buy one with an extra room off my office just so I could store all of my books, when it took 4 cargo van loads to transport all of my books I should of known I had a problem, but like my mother says "There are worse things I could be doing with my time"

Anyway as you can tell I tend to babble, and have disconjointed thoughts, but in the end most people just think I have ADD or something.

I am so happy to be apart of the GP family and can't wait to get to know each of my fellow reviewers better Happy Reading!! Rhys

I have loved to read since I can remember, cutting my teeth on Anne Rice, Bram Stoker, Cassie Edwards, and Terry Brooks. I've since moved to Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Ann Mayburn, etc. I'm not too picky when it comes to books, all I ask is that it keeps my attention. I don't require a happily ever after, but a good story filled with a decent plot is a definite must.

Most of the time I am working part time in my local grocery decorating cakes, after wards I'm chasing my five and ten year old boys around the house! =) When I'm not doing that I'm reading, writing, or on Facebook. I've been married almost eleven years to my soulmate who tolerates my love of books. He's happy that I've gotten an e-reader since it means I don't buy as many paperbacks anymore. I still have tons of books floating around my house on almost every surface I can find though.
I look forward to reviewing books since I get to read new authors, and stories.

Thanks so much!
Peace and love,
Asher

I’ve always been an avid reader. I was one of those precocious kids who read chapter books before starting kindergarten. From a young age I enjoyed horror stories and tales of the supernatural, reading Alfred Hitchcock anthologies while in elementary school.

In my early teens, my grandmother would come to visit and bring a suitcase full of books. Those were the days when you could fly with unlimited luggage and not pay overweight fees. And since Granny loved romances, I learned to love them too. My young, impressionable mind was titillated by some of the steamier books .

As I grew older, I gravitated once again toward horror stories, and I devoured everything written by Stephen King, Dean Koontz and later Anne Rice. I’m still somewhat in love with the vampire Lestat… I’ve always had a thing for bad boys. Hehehe! My first book of erotica was Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty trilogy, written under the pen name of A.N. Roquelaure. I had no idea that such books existed!!!

Through the years I’ve gone through phases, reading horror, then switching to sci-fi, then to action/adventure, then mysteries, and back to horror. I didn’t really start reading romance again until I bought my first Nook ereader a couple of years ago. While searching for free reads, I discovered the Rough Rider series by Lorelei James. Holy smokes batman!!! I was hooked. And any of those McKay boys can reel me in. Any day. Any time. Heaven knows they’ve got the right bait!

From there began a love affair… in my fantasies anyway… with all things erotica. Some of my favorite authors include Lorelei James (love those cowboys!), Cherise Sinclair (discovered my naughty side!), Shelly Laurenston , JR Ward, and Charlaine Harris (still love the paranormal!), and many, many more. I currently have just over 1,000 books on my Nook, most of which are erotic romance.

For me, one of the greatest joys of reviewing for Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews is discovering talented new authors and sharing their books with others. I tend to be outspoken and more than a little snarky, but you’ll never wonder what I think. Thanks for letting me share my love of reading with you.

I have been a reader all my life. I remember as a young girl reading my summer days away inside and my mother pushing me to go out and play with the the neighborhood kids. Now that my family is grown and on their own I have time to pick up my passion again in earnest. I love to read romance stories with historical westerns being my favorite. I have some favorite authors like Robyn Carr, Lynn Kurland, Lorelei James and Monica McCarty. I just love getting lost in a book and letting it take me places and experiencing the ups and downs of their love story. Erotica is still very new to me and I love finding new authors which really has opened up a whole new world of books to explore. I hope as a reviewer here at Guilty Pleasure I hope to give every story I read a fair and honest review so readers can get a feel if this is something that they would consider for themselves. Happy reading!

I have not always been an avid reader, having dyslexia can do that to a person. But about three years ago, once I’d finished my Master’s degree, I found that reading could be fun! Who knew?!?!

Basically, I had some teenagers beg me to read the Twilight books and I was hooked on this thing called reading for pleasure. From that mild beginning I started down a path that has led from vampires, to dark hunters, to demons, to cowboys, BDSM and M/M that can combine all of those.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to share my love of reading all things with an HEA with you. Have any more questions, just ask! I love getting to know people!

I am a Cajun girl that LOVES to read. I tend to read a book or more a day. I love sharing my love of books with others. I'm new to reviewing them in this format. I was always a Facebook or word of mouth kinda gal.

I enjoy a book that grabs you from the beginning, and doesn't let you go till the end. I really enjoy seeing parts of myself in the characters. I have also learned through reading the naughty books lately that I have a bit of a submissive side, and my attraction is to the strong alpha male cowboy with a touch of Dom in his back pocket. :) If only I could put in an order for that kinda man.
