Bad Boys Do (Donovan Brewery bk 2) by Victoria Dahl

I didn't think I could fall any more in love with the Donovan siblings than I already did in bk 1, Good Girls Don't, but while reading Bad Boys Do, I feel deeper in love with them...well Eric pissed me off, but I'm counting on a Ms. Dahl to make him rock my world in Real Men Will!!!

Olivia Bishop is no fun. That's what her ex-husband said. And that's what her smart bob and glasses imply. So with her trademark determination, Olivia sets out to remake her life. She's going to spend time with her girlfriends and not throw it all away for some man. But when an outing with her book club leads her to a brewery taproom, the dark-haired beauty realizes that trouble—in the form of sexy Jamie Donovan—may be too tempting to avoid.

Jamie Donovan doesn't mean to be bad. Sure, the wild streak in his wicked green eyes has lured the ladies before. Now it's time to grow up. He's even ready for a serious romance. But how can that be when Olivia, the only right woman he has ever met, already has him pegged as wrong?

Naughty D's Review:
First thing the SEXXX is HOTTT in Bad Boys Do...I kept having to remind myself this is a contemporary and not erotic romance. WOW!!!

This is one of those books that touched me on a personal level and I liked it so much I'm actually going to have a hard time reviewing it without spoilers.

Jamie, the middle Donovan sibling, we first met him in Tessa's book and saw how he has made a long line of bad decisions and mistakes, how he's the playboy, the flirt, just a happy-go-lucky guy, but we did get a glimpse of his desire to be treated by an equal and that just maybe he couldn't catch a break.  In BBD we learn that Jamie is trying, he wants to improve and be more of an equal partner in Donovan Brewery, but big brother Eric won't give him a chance.  I felt for Jamie, he reminds me of my life sometimes, you know when you try and try but you never can catch a break.   Olivia, well I identify with her as well, she's on the downside of thirty and at a point in her life where she feels the need for change, but is scared to make that change, not to mention she is insecure in her sexuality and personality.

When Olivia and Jamie meet there is an attraction, they then end up in a situation where they realize they can both help each other. They have an intense chemistry but are determined that their relationship is only on a helping each other basis, not a long term commitment.  It is quite refreshing to read a book where the H/h's main goal is NOT to fall in love or be in a relationship, they are both working on making themselves better. But along the way we get to see how their emotions towards each other develop and the smokin' hot sex.....good gawd there is a mirror scene that is 5 alarm fire hot!!!  IMO a lot of the sex scenes are erotic romance hot, Ms. Dahl writes emotions going through her H/h minds very similar to what I think some of us have in real life.

What I really loved about this book is we see a hero who is not confident and cocky, he's been knocked down in life and has made mistakes, but he's still sexy as hell and knows how to make love to a woman =)   We have a heroine who was in love with her husband and he cheated on her, she's trying to get over that, but is brave enough to fight her insecurities and have a fling with a younger man.   What really kept me turning pages non-stop was the fact that this wasn't a boy meets girl and they fall in love story, throughout this book Jamie and Olivia are dealing with their pasts, Olivia's ex-husband is still trying to win her back and Jamie is trying to prove to himself he is worthy of being an equal partner in Donovan Brewery. NEITHER one of them are even thinking about long term relationships.

We get to see more of the sibling interactions with Tessa, Eric and Jamie, plus Tessa's man Luke.  Eric really worked my nerves in this book, I wanted to slap him in the head and say "Give Jamie a chance, you ass!!!"

I've looked at reviews of this book and can't figure out why some are written the way they are, there is humor, hot sex and tons of emotional turmoil in this book.

To me the Donovan Brewery series isn't just about each sibling finding love, it's also about the Donovan siblings finding their way back to each other and strengthening the family bond.

I can't wait to start Real Men Will and see how Ms. Dahl wraps up this wonderful series!!
